Post Planets

We have been making the circular Vlisco Recycled carpets made out of misprinted wax textile for a while now. We where able to make these new Post Planet sitting objects by using the same technique but now for the first time shaping it directly into a 3dimensional shape. It gave us the unique possibility to gradually move the flat circle surface seamless around a dome shaped base. The bases are made out of recycled mattrass foam made by the company RetourMatrass. The strips of textile stretch differently when the angle of the dome changes on the side, with this fabric an almost Jupiter like pattern arises on the shape.
