Step Into a Silk World for Hermès

This installation celebrates the endless possibilities of imagination. It expresses the essence of reinterpretation—how a simple table can become a boat, much like a child scavenging through a house making a train out of the pots and pans from the kitchen cupboard.

We received many leftover silk carre scarves from Hermès and turned them into ropes and ribbons, crafting objects creating silk scenes for their current window displays in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Brussels, Luxembourg, Knokke, and Amsterdam. We created 23 windows which we installed ourselves, we made almost everything here by hand in our atelier in Rotterdam. We created an upside-down world: an alternative realm where everything is made of silk. At its heart is The Faubourg, Hermès’ very first store and atelier in Paris, where the first silk carré scarf was made. We turned the building into a magical tent entirely covered in silk, inviting you to embark on an adventure and discover all kinds of stories and playful objects inside. Imagine stepping into a world of silk, almost like being inside a Hermès carre.
